Monthly Weight Loss with Pictures

Total lost this month is 7.5 lbs, which brings my total to 46 lbs lost. I'm thankful for that number. However, I'd like it to be more. Maybe 10 lbs? I'll have to really kick my rear into gear to do that.

Hmm, I feel a challenge coming on. Lose 10 lbs by the end of next month? Yes! That's my goal. At the size I am now, I should be able to do that. Please pray for me! :)

I went through my closet and have a big pile of clothes to sell that are too big on me; some I only got to wear a couple of times this past fall and winter. Buying clothes is bittersweet now because I know I will only be able to wear them for so long. I'll be so excited when I reach my goal weight and will be able to buy clothes knowing I can keep them as long as I want!

I was looking through some old photos and was shocked by what I found. I knew I was fat but I didn't realize I was THAT fat. It's weird how you don't realize how fat you are until you see yourself in a picture. I'm so thankful that by God's grace I'm changing my life. I'm looking forward to sharing my July weight-loss progress blog with you at the end of the month. Until then, enjoy my fatness. I picked out four of the fattest pictures I could find. You also have my other ones that I've posted in past blogs to reference.

Amy's Meatloaf Recipe

This meatloaf is scrumdiddilyumptious. I got the recipe from an Amish cookbook and tweaked it to make it my own.

Note: Besides the hamburger and egg, all of this is an estimate of what I use. I don't measure. Add or take away from the spices, etc. to suit your taste.

2 lbs lean ground hamburger
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1/2 cup whole grain quick cooking oats
1/3 of a sweet onion - diced
2 large cloves of fresh garlic - minced
About 5 or so shakes of the following: basil, parsley, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, dill weed, celery seed, red curry powder, nutmeg, rosemary, paprika ... Heck, just throw the kitchen sink in, too! Ha.

Mix together everything except meat, then add meat and gently mix it all together (don't overwork the meat). Place in your meatloaf pan or whatever you use. Then mix together the topping (the topping makes this meatloaf!).

1/3 cup ketchup
1/2 tsp of mustard
1/4 cup brown sugar (again, depending on taste -- I like it sweet).

Poke holes in the meatloaf and then spread all of this yumminess evenly on top. Then sprinkle the top with parsley and basil. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

The gravy pictured is also homemade (believe it or not, I just learned to make gravy a few weeks ago -- it's SO easy!) but I don't measure and I don't want to give you way-off measurements on liquid and what-not. So, I'll spare you the trouble. It's delicious, though. :)

Last night, Brad and I were at the gym and I had already been working out for about an hour when I saw that a Zumba class was about to start. Our gym has quite a few classes and they are all free for members.

Anyway, I really wanted to take the class to say that I've tried it because I've had so many friends tell me I need to try it. I also wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try something that is so NOT me. Let me just tell you, I have NO rhythm. I am not a dancer AT ALL. Last night just reaffirmed that for me.

I made sure I was in the back row and I'm so glad I was. I could hardly follow anything at all. The teacher never taught the steps; she just did it and expected the class to try their hardest to follow -- which a lot of people could. I need to be taught the steps first.

I cannot move at 50 mph to a dance that I have never done before. I mean, she was going SO fast. Ah, if only Brad was recording me, I could have won America's Funniest Home Videos. LOL! Not to mention, I was the fattest girl in the class. I could keep up physically because I am used to working hard and sweating my tush off now but I just could not follow the steps. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be taking that class any time soon.

I'm more than happy to do weights and cardio. :)

I'm very proud of myself for staying in there the whole hour and trying to follow the dances to the best of my ability and for stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something new. So, for all of my friends who have been wanting me to try Zumba, I did.
